Carpenter sitting atop the ridge of a completed timber frame against a clear sky on Quadra Island

Red Seal Certified · Timber Frame Builders

Timber frames
raised by hand.

Hand-cut mortise-and-tenon joinery, post-and-beam structures and custom carpentry on Quadra Island, BC — built with old-world craft and uncompromising integrity.

The Old Craft way

Built the way timber frames have stood for centuries — joinery first, fasteners last.

On Quadra Island, Old Craft Carpentry raises structures that are meant to outlive us. Posts, beams and braces are cut by hand and locked together with wooden pegs — frames that show their craft instead of hiding it.

From a single timber-frame pavilion hauled in by draft horse to full custom homes, every project carries the same standard: quality work, fair cost, and pride in the joint you'll never see.
